High School No. 3

The project was prepared as part of an architectural competition for the renovation and expansion of the III Adam Mickiewicz High School building in Wrocław’s Śródmieście district, where it won 3rd prize. The concept aimed to integrate the new development into the existing urban fabric in a way that best highlights the site’s potential. Given that III LO was established as the second school in post-war Wrocław, has a long-standing tradition, and is known for its architecture-oriented class, we sought to emphasize its uniqueness through a distinctive yet timeless form that reflects the industrial surroundings. Our goal was to create an inclusive school—open to its environment, stimulating students’ development, and seamlessly combining functional, social, and recreational spaces. Due to the site’s unique exposure, integrating the school grounds with the adjacent Oder River waterfront was also a key aspect of the design.
